Gor Mahia AKA the mighty K’Ogalo AKA Sirkal displayed their brilliance at the Nyayo Stadium in Nairobi when the welcome APR of Rwanda in their CAF champions league second leg match, which was played without fans due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. The first leg match ended 2-1 in favor of APR
Despite the absence of GOR’s enthusiastic fans in the stadium, K’ogalo did not disappoint them.
They displayed their prowess and proved why they have been six times Kenya Premier League champions in the last seven years.
Gor Mahia were the first ones on the score sheet early in the first half on the 17th minute courtesy of their midfielder Samuel Onyango. The visitors fought back with an equalizer in the 82nd minute from their teenager Keddy Nsanzimfura who came in as a substitute in the 74th Minute.
The Mighty K’ogalo were sedulous and their efforts gave them two goals in the dying minutes of the match. Nicholas Kipkirui who came in as a substitute netted the second goal for Gor Mahia whereas Sydney Ochieng Wahongo scored their winning goal making it 3-1 and 4-3 on aggregate. Gor Mahia will now face the winner between CR Belouizdad of Algeria and Al Nasr of Libya in the next round of the CAF Champions League qualifiers
