Fourth Consecutive Final For The Citizens

It was a derby that was dominated Pep Guardiola’s sides at Old Trafford. The Citizens are proving to be the Masters of the League cup after qualifying for the finals in four consecutive seasons. They have won the previous three finals. Remarkably, since 2016, the league has been won by a Manchester club.

Manchester City got the better of their neighbours with two goals to nothing from two unusual goal scorers from Pep’s side. John stones made it one in the 50th minute after Foden curled in the ball for Stones to catalyze the ball into the back of the net. Fernandinho powered in a shot past Dean Henderson in the 83rd minute to make it 2-0 for the visitors. This is the second consecutive time Man City is going past United in the league cup semi-final.

The win gave The Citizens their tickets to Wembley to face Tottenham who had won their semi-final match against Brentford with the same margin. Mourinho will face Guardiola on the 25th of April 2021 at Wembley Stadium.
