The Russian Federation – Russia, is the largest country in the world by geographical coverage. It covers an area of approximately 17.13 million km². This approximately 11% of the world’s landmass. Russia is in two continents (transcontinental), it is both in Europe and Asia. The Country has a population of approximately 144.1 million people. Its capital city is Moscow. According to the World Bank in 2020, Russia has a GDP of 1.483 trillion US dollars.

Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin – 2nd President
Born in 1952
His term as the second president of Russia after the collapse of the Soviet Union started on 7th May 2000 to 7th May 2008. Before this he was the acting president after President Boris Yeltsin resigned. He acted as president from 31st December 1999. Prior to this, Putin was the Prime Minister under Boris Yeltsin from 1999. This Presidency term lasted for 8 years and 128 days.
Dmitry Anatolyevich Medvedev – 3rd President
Born in 1965
In office from 7th May 2008 to 7th May 2012. His term ended after serving for 4 years.
Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin – 4th President
His term as the fourth president of Russia after the collapse of the Soviet Union started on 7th May 2012 to date. Before this he was the Prime Minister of President Dmitry Anatolyevich Medvedev. Dmitry Anatolyevich Medvedev became his prime minister for his first term.
To date, Russia has had 4 presidents since the collapse of the Soviet Union with 3 person occupying the president seat.
