Arsenal’s Winning Drought Continues

A series of unfortunate events continue to unfold at the Emirates stadium the home of Arsenal. The one time invincible team are without a win in their last four premier league matches. Their latest tale comes from their week 12 home match against Burnley on Sunday 13th of December 2020.

The struggling giants’ torments begun in the 58th minute of the match when Granit Xhaka was sent off. The Swiss midfielder was booked after a disagreement with Ashley Westwood of Burnley but after VAR review the referee reversed his decision from a yellow card to a red card for violent conduct. In the 73rd Minute, Arsenal’s skipper Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang hunger for goals ended up in the wrong direction when he scored an own goal. It was a miserable turn of events for the gunners who had very good chances in the match. Although Arsenal worked relentlessly with 10 men, they couldn’t rescue a point.

On the other hand Burnley finally ended their long wait for a first win at the Emirates Stadium. They gained three crucial points and moved out of the Premier League’s bottom three. The Clarets ended week 12 on 9 points with a game at hand. While Arsenal’s third straight Premier League defeat left them at position 15 with 13 points.
