Holiday Schedule: As the new year begins, you need to plan for your holidays. This article shares the USA 2022 Holiday Schedule to help you plan accordingly. This includes the dates and respective day of the week.  

Note on the USA Holidays for Employees

Kindly note the following for employees whose basic workweek is Monday through Friday: – 

• If a holiday falls on a Saturday, the Friday immediately before is the legal holiday. 
• If a holiday falls on a Sunday, the following Monday is the legal holiday.  

For those employees whose basic workweek is other than Monday through Friday, but does not include Sunday: – 

• If a holiday falls on one of the employee’s regular nonwork days other than a Sunday, the employee’s workday immediately before that regular nonwork day is the legal holiday. 
• If a designated holiday falls on a Sunday (nonwork day), the employee’s next workday is the legal holiday.

New Year’s Day: 1^st January 2022, on a Saturday (Holiday given on Friday to Employees) 

Martin Luther Day (The Birth Day of Martin Luther King Jr): 17th January 2022, on a Monday. (The US celebrates this holiday on the third Monday of the year) 

Washington’s Birthday: 21^st February 2022, on a Monday. (The US celebrates this holiday on the third Monday of February) 

Memorial Day: 30^th May 2022, on a Monday. (The US observes this holiday on the last Monday of May) 

Juneteenth National Independence Day:  20^th June 2022, on a Monday. (The Holiday falls on a Sunday therefore pushed to Monday) 

Independence Day: 4^th July 2022, on a Monday  

Labor Day: 5^th September 2022, on a Monday. (The US celebrates this holiday on the first Monday of September) 

Columbus Day: 10^th October 2022, on a Monday. (The US celebrates this holiday on the second Monday of October) 

Veterans Day: 11^th November 2022, on a Friday.  

Thanksgiving Day: 24^th November 2022, on a Thursday.  (The US celebrates this holiday on the fourth Thursday of November) 

Christmas Day: 26^th December 2022, on a Monday. (Holidays that fall on a Sunday are pushed to Monday)
