IRS Phone Numbers International Services
If you are a taxpayer with specific individual or business account questions you should contact the IRS International Taxpayer Service Call Center by phone or fax.
The International Call Center is operational Monday through Friday, from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. (Eastern Time):

Residents of Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands may contact the IRS toll free at 800-829-1040. (Hours of Operation are 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Monday – Friday).

Note: Things to Consider or Have Before calling IRS
You need to have the following ready when you call IRS, this is to assist in verification.
For Individuals
- Social Security numbers (SSN) and birth dates
- Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) for taxpayers without a Social Security number
- Filing status – single, head of household, married filing joint, or married filing separate
- Prior-year tax return
- Tax return you’re calling about
- Any correspondence IRS sent to you
For Third parties calling for someone else
- Verbal or written authorization to discuss the account
- Taxpayer’s name, SSN or ITIN
- Tax return you’re calling about
- Valid Form 8821, Tax Information Authorization or Form 2848, Power of Attorney and Declaration of Representative
- Preparer tax identification number or personal identification number
