What is Hustler Fund?

The Hustler fund is a digital financial inclusion initiative designed to improve financial access to responsible finance for personal, micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in Kenya. The fund brings you credit to where you are. It transforms credit into “credit on the go”

The Products Under the Fund

There are four (4) main products under the Fund; and these products are:

  1. Personal Finance – you can access funds from KES 500 to KES 50,000 depending on your scoring
  2. SME Loans
  3. Micro Loans
  4. Start up Loans

The first instalment of the fund was launched on the 30th November 2022 by His Excellency Dr. William Samoei Ruto, The President of Kenya and The Commander in Chief of the Armed Forced of Kenya

How to Apply

Below are the details of how to apply for Hustler Fund:

You can apply for hustler fund via USSD on your mobile across all networks in Kenya by simply dialling *254# and following the prompts.

Eligibility Criteria

Any Kenyan above the age of 18 years with a SIM card registered on mobile money like Mpesa, Airtel Money and such platforms using their national Identification Card. The SIM card in question can/will be eligible if it has been in use for more than 90 days.

In simple terms you need to be 18 years and above with a registered SIM ( using your own ID) that has been active for at least 90 days and has active mobile money.

Other Benefits of the Hustler Fund

The hustler fund comes with many benefits that include the opportunity to save money on the platform where you can earn interest up to 9% per annum. The government will also match your contribution in savings on a 2:1 ratio up to a maximum of KES 6,000 per annum. This implies that if you save KES 2,000 the government will match up your contribution with KES 1,000 .
